Show the tablature
A tab under every system, with the fingering already worked out.
Step by step
- Press the TAB button in the palette: a six-string tablature appears under every system.
- The first tablature shows the string names, from highest to lowest (E B G D A E in standard tuning). Click these names to choose Standard, Drop D, Double Drop D, DADGAD, Open D or Open G. The menu lists strings from lowest to highest.
- Changing tuning recalculates all frets and replaces manual fingerings while preserving the staff notes. Tuning is saved with this score, and you can undo the change with Ctrl/Cmd+Z.
- The editor picks the most comfortable fingering by itself: it keeps the hand in one position, avoids jumps and does not reuse a string for different notes.
- The staff does not change when you touch the tablature. Press the button again to hide it.
Tip: The next two guides explain how to change a number or move it to another string.
